Recently in many Australian Mine sites, there has been a heavy focus on compliance and improved safety. The system is a 500 Amp 50 Hz, 55 CFM/150 PSI, Generator and Air Compressor. When designing the Smartweld 500 Air, MEA decided that due to the developments by welder manufacturers in Inverter technology. It seemed to us that we should create a bespoke Generator and integrate a serious rotary screw compressor into the engine.

MEA has much expertise in implementing directly off-engine-driven compressor systems. It wasn’t tricky for MEA to develop this while working closely with the generator manufacturer. The Smartweld provides more AC power while gouging at 500 Amps than the industry requires. The Smartweld 500 Air still has another 8 Kva of AC power when Arc Air Gouges with the Esab Warrior 500, or the Lincoln 500x, which can be offered as a package with the Smartweld 500 Air.
